CCH Launches Open Integration Platform

CCH introduced technology Tuesday to allow third-party applications to integrate with its ProSystem fx software, share data and support workflow.

Applications available for integration include those created by CCH, and other applications by third-party providers, such as accounting software from AccountantsWorld, IRS notice management software from Beyond415, customer relationship management software from Templeton Solutions and workflow management from XCM Solutions. The CCH Open Integration Platform also supports applications developed within a firm or corporation.

“It’s really a new and different way of working for us, not only for us at CCH but also for our customers and business partners out there,” said CCH president and CEO Mike Sabbatis. “We’re seeing new efficiency gains through this.”

The CCH Open Integration Platform allows secure integration between CCH common data, features and services, and third-party applications. The platform has been part of the development plan for the next generation of CCH cloud-based systems to facilitate an open and collaborative way of working.

CCH is supporting integrations through its Integration Platform Partner Program. Types of providers who are candidates for the program include payroll, accounting software, CRM, performance management, resource scheduling, expense management, custom reporting, implementation consulting firms and systems integrators.

Vendors interested in making their applications available to CCH customers through the Open Integration Platform will be supported with a wide range of software licenses and tools, along with technical training opportunities for developing and testing integrations.

CCH plans to provide partner vendors with its SaaS platform Open Integration Kits to facilitate integrations. The kits are supported by CCH Training & Consulting Services and include a tutorial on how vendors can integrate their applications with CCH’s ProSystem fx Suite of SaaS solutions, including: ProSystem fx Tax, ProSystem fx Document, ProSystem fx Practice, ProSystem fx Workstream and ProSystem fx Portal.

XCM Solutions, an early adopter in CCH’s Open Integration Platform, has used the Open Integration Kit to develop integration to ProSystem fx Document SaaS and On Premise. XCM Workflow Management Software clients now have the ability to create links from XCM tasks to files stored in ProSystem fx Document and access those files on demand. They can access and edit these files directly from the XCM routing sheet without leaving the third-party application.

The initiative has been led by CCH chief technology officer and technology shared services vice president Brian Diffin, and business intelligence and strategy vice president Christian Wolfe.

“We think of it as an ubiquitous set of services,” said Diffin. “The service is always there regardless of what application you happen to be working in, with common data elements.”

“When you think about the partners who would benefit from this, we’re targeting best-of-breed firms that can add value,” said Wolfe.
