CCH SFS, ExamMatrix Team on Tax Preparer Exam Review

CCH Small Firm Services and ExamMatrix have partnered on a new initiative to help tax professionals preparing for the Registered Tax Return Preparer exam, as well as those studying for the Enrolled Agent exam.

CCH SFS is integrating detailed tax coursework from its Web-based SFS University self-study programs with ExamMatrix’s exam review system to offer a complete reference system for professionals preparing for the RTRP exam.

“Combining our University federal taxation self-study courses with ExamMatrix provides professionals with the most effective exam review course on the market,” said SFS online training manager Amy Winkle in a statement. “Students receive integrated study materials to help them master the information they need for their profession, as well as to pass the exam.”

ExamMatrix’s courses emulate the content, question format, timing and scoring of the Enrolled Agent exam. Students answer sample multiple-choice questions and, based on their answers, the ExamMatrix “Adaptive Learning” technology creates study sessions to address the student’s weaker areas. This year, this technology will also provide a link to specific courses in the SFS University curriculum that target the areas in which the student needs more review.

“With our study materials we typically see a very high pass rate,” said ExamMatrix president Sean Mullen. “With the addition of integrated coursework from Small Firm Services’ University, the numbers can only go up. And once the RTRP competency exam is finalized, we plan to expand our study courses and adaptive learning technology to help professionals prepare for registration.”
