Software developer Centage introduced a business performance management tool that displays financial and operational key performance indicators on a user’s desktop.
Centage’s Business Maestro Dashboard Kit works with the company’s Business Maestro software and other business intelligence applications. The software aims to help small and midsized businesses better manage their budgeting, forecasting and financial-reporting data.
The kit leverages Microsoft Excel 2007 and comes with four customizable templates. It is compatible with Cognos’s PowerPlay, Business Objects’ Crystal Xcelsius, and Microsoft’s ProClarity and PerformancePoint Server 2007.
Users can monitor metrics such as gross margin, net income, working capital, inventory turnover and day sales outstanding. They can create comparisons of actual performance to plan or forecast on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis. The comparisons can be across product lines, divisions, locations or projects.
Users can also set up their own metrics and tolerance levels and customize the dashboard type and style. Visuals from the dashboard can be incorporated into a PowerPoint presentation or published to an intranet. The software costs $1,995.
