Change of Auditors: April 19 - May 2, 2004

WILLIAMS JETTISONS ARONSON: Williams Industry, a Falls Church, Va.-based holding company, dismissed auditor Aronson & Co. as its independent accountant, according to a Form 8-K filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The SEC filing didn’t provide the reason for the change in auditors. Williams said that it didn’t have any disagreements with Aronson on any matter of accounting principles or practices, financial statement disclosure, or auditing scope or procedure during its last two fiscal years.

 

NUTRA PHARMA TAPS EISNER: Nutra Pharma Corp., a biopharmaceutical company, said that it retained Eisner LLP as its new auditor, according to an 8-K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Eisner replaces Rogelio G. Castro, who resigned as the company’s independent accountant. Castro’s reports on the company’s financials over the past two years did not contain an adverse opinions or any disagreements as to audit scope or accounting principles. However, the former auditor’s report did include a going-concern opinion.

 

NETWORK ASSOCIATES DISMISSES AUDITOR PWC: Network Associates Inc. dismissed its auditor, Big Four firm PricewaterhouseCoopers, in late March and hired rival Deloitte & Touche LLP to audit its 2004 financial statements.

According to a federal filing, Network Associates said that the reports by PwC didn’t contain any adverse opinion or disclaimer of opinion, and added that there was no disagreement with the accounting firm on any matter of accounting principles or practices, financial statement disclosure, or auditing scope or procedure.

 

BIOVERIS REPLACES D&T: BioVeris Corp., a Gaithersburg, Md.-based biotechnology concern that develops and distributes cancer treatment compounds and technologies, replaced incumbent auditor Deloitte & Touche with Big Four firm PricewaterhouseCoopers.

In a federal filing, BioVeris said that there were no disagreements with Deloitte over any matter of accounting principles or practices, financial statement disclosure, or auditing scope or procedure. The filing didn’t provide a reason for the company’s dismissal of Deloitte.
