Change of Auditors

E&Y RESIGNS GOREMOTE: Big Four firm Ernst & Young is resigning as auditor for GoRemote, a provider of remote Internet access.

In a federal filing, GoRemote said that there were no disagreements with E&Y on any matter of accounting principles or practices, financial statement disclosure, or auditing scope or procedure.

A replacement had not been named at press time.

HGHP NAMED AS HEALTHETECH AUDITOR: Horwath Gelfond Hochstadt Pangburn has been named as independent accountant to HealtheTech Inc., a designer of monitoring devices for the fitness market.

In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, HealtheTech said that its audit committee jettisoned its incumbent auditor, Big Four firm KPMG, in an effort to slash accounting expenses.

HealtheTech said that there were no disagreements with KPMG on any matter of accounting principles or practices, financial statement disclosure, or auditing scope or procedure over its past two fiscal years.

KPMG RESIGNS INTER PARFUMS: Fragrance manufacturer and marketer Inter Parfums said that its auditor, Big Four firm KPMG, has resigned as its independent accountant.

In a filing, the company said that there were no disagreements with KPMG on any matter of accounting principles or practices, financial statement disclosure, or auditing scope or procedures.

A replacement for KPMG was not immediately named.

ELKCORP JETTISONS PWC: ElkCorp., a manufacturer of roofing products, dismissed Big Four firm PricewaterhouseCoopers as its auditor and appointed Grant Thornton as a replacement.

ElkCorp said in a federal filing that the change in independent accountants was approved by its audit committee.

Over its last two fiscal years, ElkCorp reported no disagreements with PwC on any accounting matters.
