Cougar Mountain Names New President and CEO

Cougar Mountain Software has appointed Chuck Gossett as the accounting software company’s new president and CEO, succeeding his father.

Bob Gossett is retiring from the company he founded in 1982 but will remain chairman of the board. His son Chuck (pictured) has been a full-time employee since 2006 and has served on the family-owned company’s board of directors for many years. He has also been a local business owner for over three decades and will retain a passive interest in one of his businesses, Gossett and Davis Appraisal Services.

The company emphasized that it will continue to provide customer service from its Idaho headquarters and work on future releases of its software. Last fall, Cougar Mountain released the latest version of its accounting, point-of-sale and nonprofit software, CMS Professional 2009, along with an online e-commerce system, CMS Total eCom, which integrates with CMS Professional. Last year, the company also created a modifications division that provides software customization for new and existing customers.

“With our latest releases, CMS Professional 2009, CMS Total eCom and our new custom modifications unit, we feel we are in a good position to take on the many challenges in 2009,” said Chuck Gossett in a statement. “My father took pride in the service and integrity and products he built with this company, and I look forward to continuing those values.”
