CPA Crossings Releases Tablet-based Courses for CPAs

CPA-focused technology education and consulting firm CPA Crossings released a new tablet-based learning model utilizing the Apple iPad on Tuesday.

The firm’s new tablet-supported CPE series is geared toward eliminating the need for paper manuals and offers graphics, polling and annotation tools via electronic courseware.

For 2011, CPA Crossings’ two most popular onsite seminars were launched under the new tablet model—“CPA Technology Boot Camp” and “Outlook, Word, Excel and Adobe: Tips, Tricks and Techniques.” CPA Crossings supplies tablet devices to session participants and offers support including shipping, setup, courseware installation, and electronic delivery of post-seminar course materials.

“Our new learning model is far more dynamic and interactive than traditional classroom methods,” said John Higgins, strategic advisor at CPA Crossings. “We designed our tablet-based courses to keep learners involved in the material by integrating such elements as polling questions, vivid color graphics, and multiple touch screen annotation tools. Accountants don’t want any more paper to clutter up their offices, which is a key reason we developed our e-tablet model. All course materials are loaded onto a tablet, and advanced annotation tools allow learners to take notes and complete activities right on the device.”
