CPA Sued for Martha Stewart's Daughter's Taxes

Martha Stewart's daughter Alexis has sued her taxpreparer over errors she claims the accountant made on her return.

She claims accountant Michael Mirras prepared her returnin 2002 when she sold her stock in her mother's business, Martha Stewart LivingOmnimedia, according to the Associated Press. The elder Stewart was accused ofinsider trading of ImClone stock in 2001 and later served a prison term forrelated charges.

Alexis Stewart, a TV and radio show host in her ownright, claimed in her lawsuit that Mirras miscalculated her tax debts. An IRSexaminer discovered that she owed $737,000 in taxes and $143,000 in interest,but nearly $295,000 in penalties was reduced to $110,000 in talks with the IRS.She is suing Mirras to recover $334,000.
