CPA2Biz and Apptix Launch E-mail Service for CPA Firms

CPA2Biz, the marketing arm of the American Institute of CPAs’ products and services, has added hosted Microsoft Exchange-based e-mail and collaboration services provider Apptix to its Trusted Business Solutions Provider program.

The addition of Apptix will allow the company to power CPA2Biz Email Solutions, in which CPA firms will be able to access e-mail via Outlook, Entourage and Outlook Web Access; back up and secure e-mail data; use built-in anti-spam and anti-virus protection; manage contact lists; and simplify scheduling with shared calendars.

Many of today’s smaller CPA firms and sole practitioners utilize services such as AOL, MSN, Yahoo or Gmail for their e-mail accounts, often because the basic service is provided for free or at a very low cost.

Although these providers are hosted in enterprise-class infrastructures, end users have limited functionality and data protection in comparison to the capabilities provided by Microsoft Exchange and Outlook, according to CPA2Biz chief executive Erik Asgeirsson.

“CPA2Biz Email Solutions offers firms improved e-mail functionality at a competitive price and promotes a more professional appearance to current and prospective clients,” he said.
“CPA firms will now have a compelling alternative to hosting their e-mail in-house or using one of the basic e-mail service offerings from one of the many free or low-cost providers ” he added. “We believe this will become one of our leading offerings. There is a very strong value proposition for firms; it’s business-class e-mail with no internal IT costs.”

Apptix joins Bill.com, Capital Confirmation, Copanion, Intacct, Paychex and XCM as part of CPA2Biz’s Trusted Business Advisor Solutions platform.
