CPA2Biz Rolls out Redesigned Site, Payroll Solution

Washington (May 8, 2002) -- CPA2Biz rolled out a redesigned Web site Monday at the American Institute of CPAs Tech 2002 Computer and Technology conference here.
Enhancements to the site include quicker and easier navigation, a new "My Account" area to track online subscriptions, and its first dedicated business resources offering — a payroll product designed by new partner Rivio."Business solutions is where the real growth opportunities will come," said Wayne Harding, senior director of channel development for the portal. Harding said the site now has 75,000 registered users and comes out with new content and new products nearly every week.

Harding downplayed the significance of a series of employee reductions at the site since it debuted last June, as well as a recently failed deal with state societies to work collaboratively on the site.

"Even though we could not come to a huge agreement, the state societies still see some value in (the site)," Harding said, adding that he's scheduled to speak before two Midwestern state societies in the next few weeks to update them about the new developments at CPA2Biz.

"The second year of the portal will be very significant," added Erik Asgeirssson, vice president of sales and marketing for the portal. "The best is yet to come."
