Crowe Horwath Names New Foundation Board Chair

Crowe Horwath has appointed a new board chair and trustees for its Crowe Foundation.

Cynthia Pierce, partner in charge of Crowe’s not-for-profit and higher education group in the firm’s Chicago office, has been named chairperson of the board. In her role, Pierce actively coordinates foundation activities with the CEO and Crowe’s executive committee and provides vision for the foundation’s direction.

Chuck Allen, CEO of Crowe Horwath LLP, and Chuck Frayer, partner in the Grand Rapids, Mich., office of Crowe’s tax group, have been named trustees. As trustees, Allen and Frayer will be responsible for promoting the foundation’s mission, values and strategic direction. Additionally, Allen and Frayer will work with the board to manage foundation operations, review grants and provide guidance for local offices in their charitable giving and community involvement initiatives.

In the past year, charitable contributions made by the Crowe Foundation and Crowe’s local offices totaled nearly $1 million. These contributions reflect the foundation’s support of youth-serving organizations and other causes important to Crowe individuals.
