Crowe Horwath has appointed a new board chair and trustees for its Crowe Foundation.
Cynthia Pierce, partner in charge of Crowes not-for-profit and higher education group in the firms Chicago office, has been named chairperson of the board. In her role, Pierce actively coordinates foundation activities with the CEO and Crowes executive committee and provides vision for the foundations direction.
Chuck Allen, CEO of Crowe Horwath LLP, and Chuck Frayer, partner in the Grand Rapids, Mich., office of Crowes tax group, have been named trustees. As trustees, Allen and Frayer will be responsible for promoting the foundations mission, values and strategic direction. Additionally, Allen and Frayer will work with the board to manage foundation operations, review grants and provide guidance for local offices in their charitable giving and community involvement initiatives.
In the past year, charitable contributions made by the Crowe Foundation and Crowes local offices totaled nearly $1 million. These contributions reflect the foundations support of youth-serving organizations and other causes important to Crowe individuals.
