New York (Sept. 26, 2002) -- James H. Wall, national managing director of human resources for Deloitte & Touche, has been named the 2002 Human Resources Executive of the Year by Human Resources Executive magazine, the firm announced.In his role as Deloitte's HR managing director, Wall leads more than 450 HR professionals and manages a $175 million budget providing services to approximately 30,000 people in the United States.
His responsibilities include recruiting and university relations, orientation, compensation and benefits, deployment, education, leadership and career development, employment relations, internal consulting, alumni and community relations, diversity and the Initiative for the Retention and Advancement of Women. He also serves as a member of the firm's Executive Committee and the Secretary/Treasurer of the Deloitte & Touche Foundation.
Wall, who joined Deloitte & Touche in 1984, was cited by the firm as a prime architect and champion of its Women's Initiative, an initiative aimed at increasing the retention and advancement rate of its high-performing women professionals, and a driving force behind Deloitte & Touche's Initiative for Diversity and Inclusion.
