Deltek’s Burch Joins Intacct

After nearly three years as director of partner programs with ERP software maker Deltek Inc., Peyton Burch has left to join cloud-based accounting and financial management solutions provider Intacct Inc. as senior channel executive.

The move reunites the team of Burch and Taylor Macdonald, Intacct’s vice president of channels, who both worked to build the channel programs at Deltek and Best Software before Best was purchased by Sage. Macdonald joined Intacct in July.

Burch will work with Macdonald to help grow Intacct’s partner network, a move he said had more to do with Intacct’s direction and future than his former company’s.

“I was coming off my best quarter ever [at Deltek] and as far as the space they are in, they will remain a leader, but I’m very excited about where [Intacct] is headed,” said Burch. “It reminds me of my days at State of the Art [the makers of MAS 90, acquired by Sage], which at the time was recommended most by CPAs. There is a lot of excitement and interest around this product from businesses and CPAs alike, and I’m glad to be a part of growing this business.”

Burch admitted there is still a lot he wants to learn about all that Intacct can and will do, but he has been familiar with the company and watched its growth since it was formed over a decade ago.

In addition, he noted that Intacct’s relationship with CPA2Biz — the marketing arm of the AICPA’s products and services — was a very positive step for the company’s future, as CPAs are important to its growth and, according to Burch, they are taking notice.

“Having an organization like CPA2Biz endorse this product, whether you agree with it or not, is a huge advantage for Intacct,” said Burch. “I would rather have it than not.”
