Dixon Hughes PLLC has acquired South Carolina's Trammell & Co. PA, an accounting firm focused on the construction industry.
Financial terms of the deal, which became effective June 1, were not disclosed. Trammell's office in Spartanburg, S.C., in the northern part of the state, will now operate under the Dixon Hughes name.
"We've always been committed to providing to our clients services customized to the construction industry, believing that concentrating in the industry allows us to offer a greater depth of experience," said Trammell principal Michael D. Trammell, in a statement. The firm has offered accounting services to contractors in the commercial/industrial, governmental, residential, highway and heavy construction sectors for the past 15 years.
Trammell will become member-in-charge of Dixon Hughes' Western Carolinas Region Construction Practice. Joining him in Dixon Hughes' Spartanburg office will be an additional eight staff members, including Cyndi Waters, formerly of C. Waters & Co. Inc., who will serve as business development manager for the upstate region.
Dixon Hughes was ranked No. 20 on Accounting Today's 2006 list of Top 100 Firms, with revenues of $113 million.
