DMJ & Co. Acquires Hutchings & Hutchings CPAs

DMJ & Co. PLLC is acquiring Hutchings & Hutchings CPAs PA, expanding DMJ’s presence in North Carolina.

[IMGCAP(1)]The deal takes effect November 1. The combined firm will have more than 73 people, including 10 partners after DMJ, based in Greensboro, N.C., adds Hutchings & Hutchings’ offices in Durham.

Hutchings & Hutchings dates back to the 1930s and was founded by Philip Hutchings Sr. and Jr. Philip Hutchings III took over the reins in 1984 and will stay on as a principal at DMJ.

“We are very excited to join forces with DMJ,” he said in a statement. “DMJ is a dynamic firm that shares our values and commitment to quality. People come first, and DMJ shares this sentiment. It’s important that relationships remain intact.”

His firm specializes in servicing physicians and health care businesses, along with the professional services, hospitality and real estate sectors.

DMJ is over 65 years old and is a member of the CPAmerica International association of CPA firms. The acquisition will extend DMJ’s presence throughout North Carolina with offices in the Triad, Triangle and Sandhills regions, along with Sanford.
