ParenteBeard partner David Duffus has been appointed to the board of directors of the nonprofit group Pittsburgh Cares.

As a forensic and litigation valuation services partner, Duffus specializes in complex litigation services, forensic accounting and valuation services assignments. In this role, he provides accounting and consulting services to businesses ranging from start-up entities to Fortune 100 companies.

Pittsburgh Cares is affiliated with the Hands On Network & Points of Light Foundation, a nonprofit organization that last year united 4.3 million volunteers through civic hubs that reach 83 percent of the U.S. population.

”David’s appointment is indicative of his strong commitment to volunteerism,” said Pittsburgh regional managing partner Bud Kelly. “Volunteering contributes to the vitality of our city. As Pittsburgh Cares pursues its leading role in the volunteer community at large, the board will benefit from David’s accounting industry expertise and seasoned perspective.”

“I look forward to working with Pittsburgh Cares as it works to strengthen the role, value and diversity of volunteers in improving the quality of life in Greater Pittsburgh,” said Duffus. “Volunteers help build stronger organizations and healthier, more vibrant communities, and I hope to provide a significant contribution to the board’s work in supporting this important cause.”
