Edwards Named Assistant Chief Economist at SEC

The Securities and Exchange Commission named Dr. Amy Edwards to the post of Assistant Chief Economist for Markets and Intermediaries in the agency's Office of Economic Analysis.

In her new role, she will lead a group that provides economic analysis and support for the SEC's Division of Investment Management, Division of Trading and Markets, and Office of Compliance Inspections and Examinations.

During her 11-year career at the SEC, she has conducted empirical studies in the area of market microstructure on issues related to decimalization, fragmentation, short selling, limit order display, specialist participation and transparency.

Her promotion was effective October 12.
