EisnerAmper adds tech firm

EisnerAmper, a Top 25 Firm based in New York, merged in ZenTek Data Systems, a technology consulting firm headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, effective June 1.

ZenTek was founded in 2014 and provides enterprise security, cloud technology and strategic management services to clients around the country. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. EisnerAmper ranked No. 18 on Accounting Today’s 2021 list of the Top 100 Firms, with $420.1 million in annual revenue. The firm has more than 200 partners and principals and over 2,000 employees. The ZenTek deal will add one partner and seven staff members.

The deal is the latest sign of an improving M&A environment at accounting firms as the economy rebounds strongly this year despite the continuing COVID-19 pandemic. Firms are being called upon to help clients with their cybersecurity challenges, especially the growing threat from ransomware attacks.

“As companies continue to face many challenges around people, processes and technology, including the so-called 'future of work' and cyberattacks, providing ‘peace of mind’ solutions to mitigate against those challenges is always at the forefront,” said Rahul Mahna, EisnerAmper’s digital managing director of managed security services, in a statement Wednesday.

ZenTek president Brandon Bowers is joining EisnerAmper as director of managed technology services. “As part of EisnerAmper, we greatly look forward to bringing effective, impactful and practical technology solutions to a much wider audience,” he said in a statement.

In February, EisnerAmper did a pair of M&A deals with St. Clair CPAs in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and Goldin Peiser & Peiser in Dallas. Last year, EisnerAmper added Compensation Resources Inc., a compensation consulting firm in Upper Saddle River, New Jersey, plus another firm in New Jersey, Horvath & Giacin.
