Elliott Davis Adds Heigel as Strategies Officer

Catherine Heigel has joined Elliott Davis LLC’s executive team as its new corporate strategies officer.

Heigel has more than 18 years of experience leading corporate strategic initiatives, advising on complex commercial transactions, and managing energy and regulatory policy, governmental relations and public affairs. Heigel will consult Elliot Davis’ clients in the energy, governmental, manufacturing and distribution and construction sectors.

“Catherine’s in-depth knowledge and broad industry experience in the energy space creates a unique opportunity for us to expand our consulting capabilities,” Elliott Davis’ managing shareholder Rick Davis said in a statement. “Her fresh perspective on strategic matters along with her strong leadership qualities will make her a real asset to our clients as well as our firm.”

Heigel, former president for Duke Energy South Carolina, returned to Greenville to join Elliott Davis after working as an executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary with American Transmission Company where she was based in Wisconsin.

“Elliott Davis’s strong reputation, client-centric culture and progressive approach to business give me a platform to do what I enjoy, which is leveraging my background to help businesses grow while navigating complex regulatory environments,” says Heigel.

Heigel spent 11 years with Duke Energy serving in various capacities from counsel in the company’s legal department for commercial transactions and regulatory litigation to her last role as president of their South Carolina operations. Prior to joining Duke in 1997, she was a staff attorney for the South Carolina Consumer Advocate. She currently serves as Vice Chair of the University of South Carolina’s Capital Campaign Committee and a member of the University of South Carolina Honor’s College Partnership Board and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania’s Executive Education Advisory Board. In 2011 Heigel was one of the Top 50 Most Influential Leaders in Greenville, S.C.
