Everson Tapped as Vice Chair at AlliantGroup

Former IRS Commissioner Mark Everson has been named vice chairman of alliantgroup, a provider of specialty tax services to businesses, where he will advise the company on strategic, operational and client service initiatives.

“I am pleased to be joining alliantgroup, as they provide best-in-class tax services that assist small, medium, and large businesses in claiming incentives set forth by Congress to help American taxpayers,” said Everson in a statement.

Prior to joining the IRS in 2003, Everson held posts as Deputy Director for Management at the Office of Management and Budget and Controller of the Office of Federal Financial Management.

He left the service in June 2007 to join the American Red Cross as president and CEO but was ousted five months later after the organization learned of a relationship he had with one of his employees.
