FASB prepares to launch updated ASC platform

The Financial Accounting Standards Board is preparing to move the Accounting Standards Codification to a new updated platform to replace the current one.

The new platform contains the same functionality as the previous one, but with several additional features. For one, the interface itself has been redesigned to appear cleaner and more navigable. It also introduces a new "My History" feature that allows people to click back to parts of the codification that they've visited before; similarly, they can now bookmark sections for later access. The "My Annotations" section has also been moved and made easier to edit. Finally, the Master Glossary search function has been redesigned and improved.

As part of the transition, the FASB online store sites will be unavailable for up to seven days, starting yesterday, though current subscribers will still be able to access FASB ASC and GARS Online content during this time. However, certain Professional View functions (annotations, feedback, history, saved search etc.) will not be available for a brief period until the new ASC platform is live.

Further, customers will not be able to make new purchases or initiate renewals of the ASC, and administrators for existing Professional View subscriptions will not be able to make any changes to their account, including adding or removing individual users from a subscription.
