Intacct has been named one of the San Francisco Bay Area's Best and Brightest Companies to Work For in 2015. … Armanino LLP, San Ramon, has been named Intacct’s 2015 VAR Partner of the Year, in recognition of its nationwide sales success, outstanding implementation efforts, thought leadership and cloud evangelism. The firm is also the first to be named to the Intacct President’s Club for five consecutive years.

HAWAII

The American Institute of CPAs announced a number of awards at its Fall Meeting of Council, here: Former chair Greg Anton received the 2015 Gold Medal Award for Distinguished Service, the institute’s highest award, in recognition of his major contributions to the CPA profession. Anton is chairman and CEO of Anton Collins Mitchell LLP. The institute also recognized 41 CPAs with its Sustained Contribution Award, in recognition of their volunteer service. MARYLAND

DeLeon & Stang CPAs and Advisors, Gaithersburg, has become one of the first firms to train its staff in the Anticipatory Organization: Accounting and Finance Edition, a learning system from futurist Daniel Burris, the Maryland Association of CPAs and the Business Learning Institute that shows CPAs and finance executives to actively anticipate disruptions, problems, customer needs and their related opportunities, and take action to shape the future by learning how to identify and take action on fully predictable “hard trends.”

 

NEW JERSEY

[IMGCAP(1)]The Fourth Annual 4 Miler at Garret Mountain hosted by SaxBST raised $66,000 for St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital in Paterson, N.J., thanks to the generosity of more than 38 corporate and individual sponsors. The Clifton-based accounting and advisory firm absorbed all expenses associated with the run/walk event in order to donate 100 percent of the money raised through sponsorships directly to the hospital’s Child Life Department.

NEW YORK

The Alliott Group, a worldwide alliance of independent accounting, law and consulting firms, held its 2015 Worldwide Conference in New York City on October 21-25. The conference was co-hosted by Manhattan-based CPA firm Farkouh, Furman & Faccio LLP and and law firm Golenbock Eiseman Assor Bell & Peskoe LLP. … WeiserMazars is hosting a webcast on hot issues in restaurant accounting on October 28, 2015 at 11 a.m. EST.
