LOUISIANA

LaPorte CPAs & Business Advisors has launched LaPorte U, a senior leadership development program to prepare its career-path professionals for future roles as equity directors and firm management. It emphasizes the development of leadership and practical business skills and includes courses on presentation skills, strategic partnering, practice growth, and economic accountability.  There are 25 professionals currently enrolled in LaPorte U. The curriculum includes seven interactive half- to full-day courses. In addition, firm faculty members also coach individually with participants three times a year. LaPorte has initially invested $150,000 in both time and costs for the first year’s program.

 

MAINE

The commercial industry practice of Baker Newman Noyes, Portland, has launched The Commercial Mix, a newsletter geared toward owners, presidents and upper-management of commercial businesses, including those in the manufacturing, distribution, technology, hospitality, retail and related industries.
