Rödl Warren Averett LLC, has opened its Korean Business Services office in Auburn. Director KBS Jangkeun "Paul" Han is leading operations at the office. Rödl Warren Averett is a joint venture between Birmingham-based Warren, Averett, Kimbrough & Marino LLC, Atlanta-based Rödl Langford de Kock LLP, and Nuremberg, Germany-based Rödl & Partner.

 

CALIFORNIA

Several partners, management personnel and clients of HMWC CPAs, Tustin, recently completed their 33rd annual "Death March," which involves an extensive, multi-day hiking and camping adventure in the wilderness. The 2011 edition of the event covered 20 miles of hiking over three days near the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.

 

FLORIDA

Weinberg & Co. PA has acquired Mimi Stein PA, West Palm Beach. Mimi Stein and her staff will retain the existing West Palm Beach office.

 

ILLINOIS

Thomson Reuters has divested its Hildebrandt Baker Robbins Financial Systems and Operational Group, which will become Source Consulting Group LLC, Chicago, which offers consulting services to legal, accounting and consulting providers.

 

MICHIGAN

Lewis & Knopf CPAs PC, Flint and Brighton, is marking the 75th anniversary of its founding in 1934. A member of the BDO Seidman Alliance, the firm currently employs 46 professionals.

 

MISSOURI

The National Association of Tax Professionals, Appleton, Wis., raised $27,484 for The Women's Safe House of St. Louis during its recent national conference in St. Louis. The organization traditionally raises money for a charity in the host city of its annual conference.

 

NEW JERSEY

Alloy, Silverstein, Shapiro, Adams, Mulford, Cicalese, Wilson & Co., Cherry Hill, has been recognized as one of the American Institute of CPAs' Group of 400, the 400 largest firms in the country after the Top 100.

 

NEW YORK

KPMG LLP, New York City, announced a nationwide employee volunteer campaign, "Service in Remembrance," to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. Among other highlights, thousands of KPMG partners and employees will volunteer at nonprofits across the country, and 30 KPMG employees and New York Says Thank You volunteers will take part in the National 9/11 Flag Tour's final commemoration in Joplin, Mo.

 

OHIO

Skoda Minotti, Cleveland, has been named a NorthCoast 99 award winner for the sixth consecutive year by the Employer's Resource Council.

 

PENNSYLVANIA

Citrin Cooperman, Philadelphia, co-sponsored a franchise networking event on August 10 with law firm FisherZucker, drawing roughly 100 professionals from the region's franchise companies and joint clients of Citrin Cooperman and FisherZucker.

WISCONSIN
