Firms giving back: RSM US donates over $2.8M via 'Birdies Fore Love'

RSM US donates over $2.8 million via Birdies Fore Love program

RSM US announced this week that it has presented the Davis Love Foundation with a check worth $2,804,188 as a result of the firm's Birdies Fore Love charitable campaign.

Representing the firm's charitable platform for its RSM Classic golf tournament, Birdies Fore Love matches staff member donations with contributions from the RSM US Foundation. Together they go toward nonprofits focused on bettering the lives of children and families.

“We are thrilled to be in a position to support the communities where our people live and work,” said Doug Opheim, chief financial officer of RSM US and chairman of the RSM US Foundation, in a statement. “Thanks to the support of our nearly 10,000 people nationwide and the leadership of our BFL co-leaders, Bailey Kosiek and Laura Shen, we are proud to have raised over $2.8 million this year—bringing the total raised through the RSM Classic to nearly $12 million to date.”

RSM US announced an expansion to the BFL program earlier this year with a new competition held over the first eight events of the 2018-2019 PGA Tour season. The top three golfers with the most birdies (or better) will be awarded $300,000, $150,000 and $50,000, respectively, in charitable donations to be donated to a family-focused nonprofit of their choice.

“RSM and the game of golf share a focus on community,” stated Joe Adams, managing partner and CEO at RSM US. “It’s an honor for us to sponsor the RSM Classic. The philanthropic aspect of the game resonates with our clients and with our people, who have an inner drive to make the world a better place by leaving things better than we find them.”
