Framson Gets Top PFP Honor from AICPA

New York (Jan. 28, 2003) -- The American Institute of CPAs has honored Joel H. Framson with its Personal Financial Planning Division's Distinguished Service Award.Framson, a Personal Financial Specialist and Certified Financial Planner, is a partner with Los Angeles-based Glowacki Framson Financial Advisors, a fee-only financial planning and investment management practice. He serves as chairman of the AICPA Center for Investment Advisory Services and presides over an AICPA subcommittee that is creating a Handbook for Investment Fiduciaries.

Framson is a member of the California Society of CPAs and the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors, and has served on the AICPA's Personal Financial Planning Executive Committee. He also served as past chair of the Personal Financial Planning Committee of the California Society of CPAs.

The award was presented earlier this month at the AICPA's Annual Personal Financial Planning Technical Conference in Phoenix.

"The whole investment services area within the PFP division has come a long way during the last 10 to 12 years. It used to be that any words that began with the letter 'i' -- investments, insurance, implementation -- were taboo," said Framson. "Now financial planning is viewed as part and parcel, including the investment piece. We've made some great progress."
