G2 Crowd Releases 2015 Time-Tracking Software Ranking

Business software review site G2 Crowd announced the latest rankings of time-tracking software in its winter 2015 Grid report, based on user reviews.

The report uses G2 Crowd’s software review engine The Grid to rank nine products based on more than 220 reviews by business professionals. In addition to the customer satisfaction reported in those reviews, the Grid factors in market presence determined from social and public data.

This report includes both standalone time tracking products and platforms that include time tracking modules in their larger suite of PSA tools.

While none of the ranked time tracking tools qualified as leaders—to qualify, products must receive a high customer satisfaction score and have substantial market presence—five products were named high performers. That designation is awarded to products with high customer satisfaction scores but smaller market presence, and in this report included Replicon, Harvest, Toggl, Journyx and Clarizen. Replicon and Harvest both earned the highest customer satisfaction scores but Replicon had a higher overall score because of its larger market presence.

Across all time tracking products, reviewers reported the software they use meets their requirements at an average rate of 80 percent and they were 77 percent likely to recommend it.

Out of more than 60 software vendors listed by G2 Crowd, the nine ranked products received 10 or more reviews to qualify for the Grid.

Satisfaction rankings are generated from user reviews, while market presence is calculated from vendor size, market share and social impact. Based on these combined scores, the Grid categorizes products as a leader, high performer, contender or niche.
