Grant Thornton LLP has purchased the assets of Dallas-based information technology consulting and software firm Avalion Consulting LLC.
The transaction, which falls under Grant Thorntons Business Advisory Services group, includes the addition of two partners; Avalions IT consulting staff; and its IT and governance, risk and compliance intellectual property, including Avalions patented GRC software, ComplianceSet. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

ComplianceSet is a Software as a Service application that provides a portal view into a companys system of internal controls for financial reporting.
