H&R Block is offering refund advances of up to $1,250 to current and new clients, as well as free filing of 1040EZs through Feb. 28.

The advance is a no-interest loan offered for a limited time at participating locations, and will be repaid with the client’s federal or state income tax refunds.

In most cases, clients will have access to money the same day they apply, Block said.

Loans will be in amounts of $500, $750 or $1,250, with some other conditions.

In announcing the deals, Block cited the PATH Act and the new IRS requirement to hold refunds of early filers who claim the Earned Income Tax Credit or the Additional Child Tax Credit.
