Top 100 Firm Habif, Arogeti & Wynne has named Richard Kopelman its next managing partner, succeeding current MP Dan Simms on Jan. 1, 2013. The two will work together over the next year to ease the transition.
Kopelman joined the firm in 1992, and is currently a member of the firm's executive board, and leader of its manufacturing and distribution practice.
"Richard's strong leadership qualities make him a perfect fit for this position, and with Richard at the reins, I know the firm is in very capable hands," said Simms, who served as MP for nine years, during which the firm grew by more than 230 percent.
"Richard is a growth-oriented leader, which is exactly what the firm needs as we move forward," said Merrill Wynne, one of the firm's founding partners. "He possesses the key competencies of a strong leader, and I am looking forward to his fresh ideas as he leads the firm."
Kopelman holds a BS in Accounting from the University of South Florida.
