The deal expands the Top 50 Firm's presence in Florida. BB&K adds 22 professionals to the team, and its managing partner, Donald Keyes, will join HBK as principal and market leader for the Tampa office.

HBK, based in Canfield, Ohio, ranked No. 49 on Accounting Today's 2026 list of the Top 100 Firms. It reported $184 million in revenue, with 110 partners and over 770 staff across 21 offices.

"The Tampa Bay market is one we have had our eye on for some time, and BB&K is exactly the kind of firm we look for," Thomas Angelo, managing principal and CEO of HBK, said in a statement. "Their commitment to client relationships and technical excellence is the same foundation HBK has been built on since 1949. This combination gives clients in Tampa access to the full depth of HBK's resources, and it gives our broader client base a trusted local presence in a market that matters."

The firm has made a number of acquisitions in the past few years. In 2025, it added MKS&H in Maryland in December, KHS in New Jersey in October, and Acuity Human Resources in January. In 2023 it added Zapken & Loeb in New York. And in 2021, it acquired Vertical Solutions in Pittsburgh.

"Joining HBK gives our team access to capabilities and resources that will meaningfully expand how we serve our clients," BBK&K's Keyes said in a statement. "We have spent years building deep relationships in this community. Joining HBK lets us offer those clients a broader range of services without changing anything they value about working with us."
