HBK CPAs Adds Cordua, Pastore & Associates

HBK CPAs & Consultants has expanded its footprint in New Jersey by merging in Cordua, Pastore & Associates, a firm based in Cherry Hill.

HBK, based in Canfield, Ohio, also has offices in Florida and Pennsylvania. The firm, also known as Hill, Barth & King, ranked 63rd on Accounting Today’s 2016 list of the Top 100 Firms, with $60 million in annual revenue. Last October, HBK merged in another firm in its home state of Ohio by adding Norman, Jones, Enslow & Co. in Columbus. HBK anticipates another successful combination.

“When service approaches and cultures are aligned, mergers are successful and everyone wins,” said HBK managing principal Christopher Allegretti in a statement. “That is certainly the case here!”

The latest deal will add 14 more employees to the firm, who will continue to work from their current offices in Cherry Hill. They include managing partner Peter J. Cordua.

“This merger provides opportunities for our professionals to better serve their clients, from both a depth of service perspective and in terms of industry niche expertise,” Cordua said in a statement.

Director of taxation Vincent M. Pastore said his firm has spoken with several large firms about the possibility of joining them, but HBK stood out because of its local office service delivery approach and large regional firm resources. “This benefits our clients and our team in a way that wasn’t possible for us as a local firm,” he said.
