H.D. Vest Appoints New CMO, CIO

Ruth Papazian has been named chief marketing officer and head of recruiting at H.D. Vest.

[IMGCAP(1)] Papazian has more than 30 years of leadership experience in marketing and communications in the financial services industry. Papazian will oversee H.D. Vest's advisor recruiting and marketing communications activities.

Prior to H.D. Vest, Papazian served as executive vice president and chief marketing officer at LPL Financial, where she handled marketing activities for the firm's Independent Advisor Services and Institution Services businesses. Papazian has also held senior executive roles at Ameriprise Financial, Morgan Stanley Investment Management, Evergreen Investments / Wachovia and Wells Fargo Securities.

H.D. Vest also brought on a new chief information officer, Adi Garg.

[IMGCAP(2)] Garg has more than 22 years of experience as a technology executive in a number of industries where he managed the technology strategy, product development, operations, and information security. 

Prior to H.D. Vest, Garg was the vice president for Cash America, where he led strategy and infrastructure operations. His career also gave him the opportunity to hold several leadership roles at Citibank and FedEx. 

"There is a large and rising demand among mass affluent investors for holistic advice that encompasses both tax and wealth management guidance, and there is no broker-dealer better positioned to meet that demand than H.D. Vest. Both Adi and Ruth will be a crucial part of the next phase of our growth strategy," H.D. Vest’s CEO Roger Ochs said in a statement.
