HP Partners With NetLedger

New York (June 20, 2003) -- In what may seem an unlikely matchup, Web-based business software company NetLedger and Hewlett-Packard entered a multi-tier partnership to -- among other things -- market and sell each other’s products to small and midsized businesses.

The initiative is scheduled to begin this month in the U.S., where HP and NetLedger will offer complete service, support and solutions with the intent of helping SMBs increase productivity and efficiency while reducing IT costs.

“Our strategy is to work with solution providers who have an equal commitment to SMBs,” said Robyn West, vice president of small and midsized business, for HP’s Personal Systems Group. “NetLedger has a real solution, support structure and expertise that is here today. When you have two companies uniting in a common cause, it’s great partnership.”

HP and NetLedger will market their products solutions to customers through their respective channels. NetLedger began its reseller program less than two years ago and currently has over 200 channel partners. This relationship gives NetLedger access to HP’s channel of over 5,000, while HP resellers have an equal opportunity to sell NetLedger products such as NetSuite and the Oracle Small Business Suite.

“Among many things, this deal really extends our belief that channel sales are integral to the ASP model,” said Zack Nelson, NetLedger’s president and CEO. “NetSuite is also currently working on mobile computing devices from HP. We are big believers in the mobile office and we are going to work with HP to figure how to work on more mobile devices.”

Nelson also said that appropriate training will be available for HP and NetLedger channel partners. The two companies will announce additional tiers of their relationship at a later date.
