Hutchinson & Bloodgood Brings in Codiga & Elward

Glendale, Calif. (March 9, 2004) -- Hutchinson & Bloodgood, a $13.66 million firm based here, has expanded its footprint in California with the merger of Santa Cruz-based Codiga & Elward Inc. into its fold.

The deal added one office, one partner and two employees to the firm, giving Hutchinson & Bloodgood a total of five offices and roughly 100 employees, including 17 partners, and a combined revenue of about $14.1 million, according to managing partner Michael W. Machado. Christopher M. Codiga joined the firm as a partner.

Codiga & Elward was established in January 1997 by the combination of two local accounting practices, Christopher M. Codiga, CPA and Kenneth W. Elward, CPA.

Hutchinson & Bloodgood specializes in serving the community banking, legal, and agricultural industries.

Machado said the firm would look for other mergers that make sense with its business model. In 2001, H&B brought in the San Diego practice of Logan & Throop.
