IMA Elects New Chairman

The Institute of Management Accountants has named Frederick E. Schea as board of directors chair for the 2008-2009 fiscal year.

The volunteer position will unite Schea with IMA president and CEO Jeffrey C. Thomson in leading the nearly 60,000-member organization of accounting and finance professionals.

Schea has spent more than 35 years as a senior finance executive and is currently president and CEO of First Savings Bank of Perkasie, a $1 billion community bank in Bucks County, Pa. He has also worked as a senior executive at Stonebridge Financial, Progress Financial, CoreStates Financial, KPMG Peat Markwick and the Philadelphia Savings Fund Society.

Schea is an active firefighter and a trustee of the Chalfont Chemical Fire Engine Co. in Chalfont, Pa. He serves on the board of the Doylestown Hospital, the Bucks County Physician Hospital Alliance and the Bucks County Community College Foundation.
