SAGE RECOGNIZES RESELLERSSage Software named MIS Group as its overall business partner of the year for 2007 for North America. The Dallas-based group resells several of Sage’s products, including Sage MAS 90 ERP, MAS 200 ERP, MAS 500 ERP, Sage Timberline Office, Sage Master Builder, Sage SalesLogix, SageCRM, Sage Abra HRMS, Sage FAS Fixed Assets and Sage Timesheet.

In addition, Sage announced its Chairman’s Club of companies with top performance in their sales and marketing programs. They included Accordant Co. LLC, ADSS Global, Alliance Solutions Group, Blytheco LLC, CA Plus, CIS Consulting Group, CompuData Inc., Delphia Consulting LLC, Dresser & Associates Inc., ERP Visions Inc., Infinity Info Systems Corp., JMT Consulting Group Inc., MIS Group, NFP Consultants Inc., Technology Advisors Inc., The Strategies Group, and United Solutions.

Separately, Sage launched a new Act! by Sage Online Community. Available at http://community.act.com, the community includes a discussion board for posting ideas and questions, as well as sharing information; a forum for those using Act! Premium in a workgroup or corporate environment; and a developer’s network.

INTUIT’S HIRING/PAYMENT GUIDE

Intuit has introduced an online resource for small business owners, “The Guide to Hiring and Paying Employees.” The guide, available at http://payroll.intuit.com, includes step-by-step advice to help business owners understand the costs of hiring employees and how to correctly classify them.

Also on the site is advice on speeding up the hiring process, including how to write an effective job posting and interview job candidates. The guide includes information on how to comply with government requirements, such as classifying workers and calculating paychecks correctly, verifying employees’ eligibility, and completing payroll forms. The Web page provides a link to a Hiring Forum where prospective employers can share their experiences and get their questions answered.
