Two Indianapolis accounting firms -- Zurface, Sanders & Rasor and LM Henderson & Company PC -- have merged.

Financial terms of the deal, which became effective Oct. 1, were not disclosed. The new firm will operate under the name LM Henderson and Co. LLP and have approximately 40 employees.

Both firms have provided a full range of accounting, auditing and tax and management advisory services for central Indiana businesses and residents. Post-merger, the firm hopes to take on larger clients and provide better service for existing customers. Henderson also hopes the merger will provide its employees with a greater chance for upward mobility.

The firm will be managed by five principals -- William Blaser, James Cline, Michael Rasor, Michelle Zimmerman and Robert Zurface -- and Zurface, Sanders & Rasor’s 20 employees will relocate to LM Henderson’s offices later this month.
