Intuit Taps Schar as VP, CMO

Intuit Inc. named Procter & Gamble veteran Mark Schar to the post of senior vice president and chief marketing officer of the financial and tax software provider, based here. In that role, Schar will lead the company's efforts to acquire new customers and will be responsible for product marketing efforts -- including Internet and direct marketing -- advertising, customer research, business development and communications. Schar will report to Intuit president and chief executive Steve Bennett. Prior to coming aboard at Intuit, Schar was most recently vice president of interactive ventures and market research at P&G. He also spent 12 years as a vice president and general manager running a variety of global brands and businesses at the consumer products conglomerate. "Mark's extensive experience in both consumer and Internet marketing will help us reach customers in new, innovative ways," said Bennett in a statement. "We expect his leadership to create world-class marketing programs that drive additional growth for Intuit."
