IRS names new directors for LMSB Division

The Internal Revenue Service has announced five director-level appointments in its Large and Mid-Size Business Division, which serves corporations, Subchapter S corporations and partnerships with assets greater than $10 million.New directors were named for four of the LMSB's five industries, as well as for the LMSB's pre-filing and technical guidance unit. Among the changes:

* Patricia Chaback was named industry director for communications, technology and media, filling the vacancy left by Frank Ng's promotion to deputy commissioner for LMSB International. For the past four years, Chaback served as director of field operations for the financial services industry.

* Paul DeNard was named director for pre-filing and technical guidance, following the promotion of Kathy Petronchak to serve as chief of staff for IRS Commissioner Mark W. Everson.

For the past three years, DeNard served as industry director for financial services. The department oversees a variety of pre-filing and tax administration initiatives.

* Barry Shott will take over the vacancy left by DeNard. For the prior six months, he served as acting industry director for communications, technology and media.

* Henry Singleton was named industry director for heavy manufacturing and transportation, filling the vacancy left by John Petrella, who retired in early July. He was previously director for the retailers, food, pharmaceuticals and health care industries. John Risacher will swap departments and take Singleton's old director slot.
