IRS Plans Another Super Saturday

The Internal Revenue Service said it would open many of its offices for another Saturday to help taxpayers who don't normally file tax returns receive their economic stimulus payments.

The IRS held a "Super Saturday" event on March 29 at 320 of its offices to help people file tax returns in order to get their economic stimulus payments. The IRS said that nearly 300 taxpayer assistance centers will be open again next Saturday, April 12, from 9 am to 1 pm local time. This time, though, the IRS will also assist and answer questions from other taxpayers who regularly file tax returns.

In addition, the IRS will have special hours next Saturday for phone calls on its toll-free help line at 1-800-829-1040 from 10 am to 3 pm local time.

All IRS Taxpayer Assistance Centers are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm local time. These sites offer free tax preparation and filing for individuals and families whose income is $40,000 or less. The sites are listed on the IRS Web site, IRS.gov.
