IRS Puts Doctor Web Site Up for Sale

The Internal Revenue Service intends to auction the Web site and domain name of DoctorTalk.com, an e-commerce site the IRS seized that provides vitamin products for sale.

The IRS is working with IpAuctions, a Reno-based online auction company that specializes in selling off intellectual property assets. DoctorTalk.com markets a range of vitamin products and offers "live" medical consultations with a physician who works for the site. He provides advice about pain management, vitamin usage, the nervous system, immune system functions and other matters.

"The site is suited for an experienced medical professional and has produced a viable dual revenue stream from both commerce activities when it was seized by the IRS," according to IpAuctions.

The auction is scheduled to take place Oct. 15, 2008.

The IRS will hold the live auction at its offices in Oklahoma City. Details of the sale, including bid forms, wire transfer instructions, an appraisal and payment terms may be found at www.ustreas.gov/auctions/irs/ocok_inte_3148.htm. Details of the sale may also be found online at www.ipauctions.com.
