James to Chair Accounting Department at North Carolina A&T State

Dr. Kevin L. James was recently named chairperson of the Department of Accounting at North Carolina A&T State University, effective July 1, 2010. 

He will be moving from Middle Tennessee State University, where he has served on the faculty since August 2000. He attended the 1995 November PhD Project Conference and is a member of The PhD Project Accounting Doctoral Students Association.

He has served in the Department of Accounting at Middle Tennessee State University since August 2000. He has also served as the director of the Master of Science in Accounting program since January 2005. James earned his Ph.D. in accounting from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville after receiving a B.B.A. in accounting and M.B.A. with a concentration in accounting from Middle Tennessee State University.

His teaching interests are financial accounting and auditing, and his current research interests include diversity in the accounting profession and the effects of perfectionism on accounting practice.
