KPMG acquires Arnold Group

KPMG LLP acquired the Arnold Group LLC, a Seattle-based strategic consulting firm that advises clients in the technology sector, effective Jan. 1, 2023.

The acquisition, announced Thursday, is expected to complement the Big Four firm's existing services in the commercial sales and revenue enhancement areas. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. All 21 of the Arnold Group's professionals are joining KPMG, and five of them will be leaders in KPMG's strategy practice. KPMG ranked No. 4 on Accounting Today's 2022 list of the Top 100 Firms, with $9.97 billion in annual revenue. The Arnold Group has not disclosed its revenue.

"Having the Arnold Group join KPMG is directly aligned with our overall growth strategy and vision for the future, a perfect fit for where our firm is headed," said KPMG advisory vice chair Carl Carande in a statement Thursday. "We are now even better positioned to devise and deliver innovative and holistic transformation programs for our clients through our shared breadth of knowledge and expertise in growth-oriented strategy, end-to-end commercialization and performance transformation."

The combination will help clients develop their business strategies. "This is an exciting opportunity to scale our business for our people, our clients and the markets we serve," said Arnold Group co-founder Carl Albrecht in a statement. "Clients of both the Arnold Group and KPMG will benefit from our collective strengths — highly qualified professionals with unique expertise, increased delivery capacity and a more comprehensive transformation offering."

Among the services will be developing sales and pricing strategies. "As companies navigate today's economic uncertainty, it's critical that they invest in the right strategic growth initiatives, alongside their performance improvement efforts," said KPMG strategy leader Scott Rankin in a statement. "This acquisition allows us to bring the best of both to our clients, leveraging sales and channel strategy, pricing and packaging, and commercial systems, to help them gain market share and outpace their competitors."
