KPMG Admits 69 Partners -- Considers 'Ground Zero' Relocation in NYC

   

New York (Sept. 18, 2002) - Big Four firm KPMG said it has admitted some 69 new partners into the firm.The firm's 2002 partner class is comprised of 40 professionals in assurance and advisory services, 26 in tax services and three in client service support. Of the new class, 23 are women.

In a separate development, news reports claim KPMG is currently in negotiations with New York City to relocate its corporate headquarters to the World Financial Center in lower Manhattan, located next to where the World Trade Center once stood. Currently, KPMG’s offices are located in Midtown.

KPMG spokesman Bob Zeitlinger said a downtown relocation is only one of many possibilities being discussed. "We're continuing to review all options," he said.
