On the move: PICPA hosts its 129th annual meeting

The Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs is hosting its 129th annual meeting in May; EY named a new office managing partner in Dallas; the Securities and Exchange Commission named a new director of its Division of Enforcement; the Illinois CPA Society's charitable arm named a new board of directors; the Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Board named a new chair; and other firm and personnel news from across the accounting profession.

COLORADO

HCVT, Los Angeles, has opened a new office in the Denver Metro area, in Greenwood Village at 6400 South Fiddlers Green Circle, Suite 1050. Two HCVT partners — Kimberly Hastings, who has been with the firm for 20 years and has been working remotely from Denver for the past three years, and Terry Cockerham, who currently works in the firm's Fort Worth, Texas, office — will anchor the new location.

ILLINOIS

The CPA Endowment Fund of Illinois, the charitable arm of the Illinois CPA Society, announced its board of directors for the year from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027: Jason Parish, of Plante Moran, will serve as chair; Jeffery P. Watson, of Miller Cooper & Co., as vice chair; Geoffrey J. Harlow, of Wipfli, as treasurer; Rosaria Cammarata, of Malwarebytes Inc., as secretary; and Kimberley A. Waite, of CBIZ CPAs, as immediate past chair. The fund is also added new directors Andrea J. McDermott, of Grant Thornton, and Brian J. Blaha, of Winding River Consulting.

David Woodcock has been appointed director of the Division of Enforcement of the Securities and Exchange Commission, effective May 4. He is currently a partner with Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, where he serves as chair of the law firm's Securities Enforcement Practice Group. Sam Waldon will continue to serve as acting director until May 4.

Terry K. Patton has been appointed chair of the Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Board, effective April 1, for a term that will end on June 30, 2029. He is a professor emeritus at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas, where he taught financial accounting, auditing and governmental accounting for 18 years. In addition, Eric Berman and William Morehead have been appointed to serve on the board starting April 19, for five-year terms that will end on April 18, 2031, with an option for a second five-year term.
