KPMG Creates New Operations Vice Chair Position

As part of a handful of executive appointments, Jack T. Taylor has been named to the newly created position of executive vice chair of operations for KPMG LLP.

"The creation of an executive vice chair of operations position reflects KPMG's recognition of the increased scope and complexity of our business -- and underscores our belief that it is critically important to focus on organizational and business structures and processes," said chief executive and chairman Timothy P. Flynn, in a statement. "[Taylor] has the operational experience required to integrate our businesses, create linkage within our infrastructure and put a new focus on driving operational excellence."

Taylor, 53, was formerly vice chair of operations and audit and risk advisory services, where he was responsible for operations and client-service delivery. A member of the firm's management committee, he also serves as the relationship partner for several Fortune 500 companies. During his three-decade career with KPMG, Taylor has held leadership positions at the local, area and national levels.

In other appointments:

  • Henry Keizer, 49, was named vice chair of audit;
  • Mark Goodburn, 43, was named vice chair of advisory;
  • Peter Minan, 43, was named national managing partner of audit; and,
  • Lynne Doughtie, 42, was named national managing partner of advisory.

Keizer and Goodburn will succeed Flynn in their separate audit and advisory roles. Minan and Doughtie assume newly defined roles focused on KPMG's risk management and quality initiatives, succeeding Taylor in their new roles."Under the firm's organizational structure, each of the three KPMG functional vice chairs will be, in essence, the CEO of their respective business functions, responsible for driving our strategic priorities of quality, people and growth," Flynn said.
