KPMG to Hold Virtual World Jobs Fair

KPMG plans to host a 48-hour worldwide recruiting fair over the Internet next week.

The KPMG World Jobs Fair is scheduled to take place Sept. 24-26. The fair has already attracted more than 10,000 people to sign up at KPMG's Web site. "The number keeps growing," said KPMG spokesperson Cassandra Osei.

Job candidates will be able to search through hundreds of KPMG jobs, and chat with recruiters in KPMG's audit, tax and advisory businesses. They can also watch live Webcasts, participate in question-and-answer sessions and apply for jobs online. The jobs fair will include a virtual exhibit hall with booths representing KPMG's 45 member firms.

The fair will focus on adding thousands of jobs to support the member firms' growth in the U.S., Europe and other markets, and draw specialists from around the world experienced in International Financial Reporting Standards.

The event follows on the heels of an internal jobs fair that KPMG conducted in May for its own employees and partners at 12 of its member firms. That jobs fair was aimed at making them aware of rotation opportunities abroad. The event attracted nearly 5,000 participants from 104 countries.
