LarsonAllen Acquires Firm with Nonprofit Niche

LarsonAllen announced that Washington-based Langan Associates PC will join the firm's Public Service Group as of May 1.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Langan will now operate under the LarsonAllen name.

A provider of accounting and consulting services to the nonprofit industry, Langan has been in business since 1988. As a result of the merger, Langan managing partner John Langan will become principal-in-charge of the Washington LarsonAllen office.

"Washington, D.C., is a great location to support our plans for geographic expansion and demonstrate our commitment to public service," said LarsonAllen chief executive Gordy Viere, in a statement.

The combination increases the size of LarsonAllen's Public Service Group from 85 to more than 150 professionals. The group will serve a client base of over 2,000 nonprofits across the nation and bring in more than $25 million in annual revenues, making it the firm's second-largest industry specialization.LarsonAllen has a handful of offices located in the upper Midwest and other locations in Philadelphia, St. Louis, southwestern Florida and Charlotte, N.C. In January, the firm expanded its presence in the Philadelphia market by acquiring 35-person firm Ostroff, Fair & Co. PC. LarsonAllen ranked No. 19 on Accounting Today's 2006 list of Top 100 Firms, with revenues of $119 million.
