LarsonAllen Expands Credit Union Practice

Greg Schwartz has joined LarsonAllen as a principal with the firm’s credit union practice, an industry the firm has been serving since the late 1970s.

He will focus on delivering audit and consulting services to credit union clients. “Greg will be an important part of our practice as we continue expanding our services to credit unions across the nation,” says Rich Gabrielson, financial institutions principal with LarsonAllen. “His industry-recognized expertise and experiences with credit unions in almost every state will allow us to develop service offerings for organizations in new markets.”

The additions of Schreiner, Legge & Company in Washington DC and Ganum, Meder, Childers, & Hoering in St. Louis have added to the history of LarsonAllen’s credit union practice, ranked second nationally amongst CPA firms serving clients with more than $40 million in assets. With a long-term commitment to the field, LarsonAllen’s credit union practice will continue to grow with the addition of Schwartz.

He was formerly a partner with McGladrey & Pullen’s national credit union practice, which he co-founded in the late 1980s. As a leader of that group, he monitored industry developments, continuously updated the firm’s approach and tools, and trained credit union audit staff. Schwartz has experience in agreed-upon procedure engagements, opinion audits, generally accepted accounting principles and auditing standards, credit union electronic data processing, service center reviews, and review and evaluation of internal audit functions.

“I’m excited to join LarsonAllen and look forward to expanding services to clients in all U.S. markets,” he said in a statement. “This firm has a long history of serving credit unions and is committed to remaining a top service provider in this area. Together we will be able to provide noticeably different client experiences.”

Schwartz is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the Minnesota Society of CPAs, and the Minnesota Credit Union Network. He is a licensed CPA in 46 states and is a recipient of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants Certificate of Distinguished Performance.
